OK, the vaguely unpleasant dream I had... There are some moments of extreme detail that confused me, then some moments of vagueness, which confused me even more :)
I was at work, just had a really shitty call. I start on another call and the fire alarm goes off. Assuming that it's just a test, carry on and say "it will stop in a minute" to the guy on the phone, and wait. It doesn't stop. I see people leaving and beg off the phone.
Now I am at the top of the stairs, these aren't the actual stairs we have at work, it's somewhere else, but there's my whole team there - even though I only recognise two faces - and everyone's hanging back. Apparently it's not believed that there's a real fire, and they're all hanging about, hoping that it's just a test. I'm not willing to risk this, neither is Sheryl, and we both make our way downstairs, and meet a raging inferno on the lower floor.
After this I just remember being outside and watching the flames roar, and just like watching the burning of the World Trade Centre, I watched people climbing out the windows and trying to jump to safety, though somehow the building had grown in height from reality. In this part of the dream it was like the tower at Forton services, which just makes me think my head is a really weird place now.
This is a pic of the tower at Forton, for those who don't know :)

I don't remember anything else though I know more happened. As I say, it wasn't a pleasant dream, and I woke up with a horrible sense of dread, but I checked out the window and the T-Mobile building is still intact :)

"XVI The Tower
The Tower is a high, golden-domed grey building on a mountain. The skies are black and lightening strikes the dome off, bursting into flames with drops of fire raining all around. From the windows, two people are falling - one is dressed like a king and one as a peasant.
I call this a "Well, DUH!" when I draw a card which has such an obvious surface meaning - The Tower's primary interpretation is sudden change. However, like all of the cards and specifically the Major Arcana, The Tower has many more meanings under the surface. It just depends on how you look at it, like an optical illusion. Some interpreters call this a card of sudden destruction and disaster, for obvious reasons - but some others see the striking off of the roof as a liberation from prison, or even as a bolt of spiritual enlightenment freeing us from a mind constrained by the physical/mundane.
In this last interpretation the lightening represents insight into the problem, and it may be that in your thinking about your problem you will suddenly come to understand your motivations and from that be able to make a decision. It may also signify breakthroughs in situations where emotions have been bottled up or blocks being removed. Examine relationships carefully in this context."
Obviously that has to be tweaked depending on the querent and the surrounding cards, but that's the base I usually work from...Pollack's interpretation is even more positive than mine, she mentions that the falling flames look like the Hebrew character Yod, which being the first letter of God's name, mean that His grace is falling upon you. That's all a bit Christian ceremonial magick for my taste but I see what she's getting at.
Re:
for me the tower is always bad. It just happens that way.
usually sudden change in my life is something that isn't controlled by me...(although I have controlled sudden changes in my life)
but for me, I crave stability in life (which I don't have)
I think you see what I'm getting at...
I'm just very tired...
I could use someone who could give me a good tarot reading...

I can highly recommend the Tarot Association of the British Isles (http://www.tabi.org.uk), who I read for - everyone that does readings there has gone through a mentoring scheme and quite often the training course as well. It's free, btw. I would offer but I'm really rushed off my feet atm (although submit your question on a friday and you might well get my one slot of the week anyhow :). If you wanted to pay for a larger spread my old mentor (Troi) has a link to her site there too. I will be doing paid readings when I finally get time to breathe!

Caroline's pretty good at it, she's been doing it for ages. May even be worthwhile asking her direct :) Maybe not, ofc *S*
