Sounds like an excellent musical extravaganza is going on up in your house tonight - what with Dub Syndicate AND the Orb AND King Tubby AND Scientist *AND* Lee Perry! I can't help but feel somehow partly "responsible" :)

If you can track it down I recommend 2 Badcard's 'Hustling Ability' album - though it is a few years old now. What should be easily available to you though (they had copies in Fopp in central Glasgow last time I visited) is Adrian Sherwood's new (and 1st) solo album 'Never Trust A Hippy'. Both are on my website if you want to see what the covers look like.

You are very responsible!
I was reading about Mr Sherwood's album the other day and thinking "I really need to get hold of that". It's payday on the 30th :)

2Badcard are one of those bands who I have tried my hardest to find around but just can't seem to dig up. Looks like everyone who has their albums doesn't want to let go!

The 2 Badcard album I referred to was (typical of On-U Sound) barely promoted and badly distributed - and hence the chances of it being available to rip of the net are very slim. Its still worth grabbing if you see a hardcopy anywhere around.

Mr Sherwood's new album is available even in HMV type places and is excellent. Perhaps I would say that ;) but even I found it a breath of fresh On-U air when I first heard it...

You are kinda biased as to your opinion of the album :)

I've not even really tried to get hold of the 2Badcard stuff online, but in shops it also seems to be very scarce.

...there are releases of his that I think have sucked. Like most of the stuff by 'London Underground' I don't like much from the very early On-U days. Their releases are *extremely* hard to find now because they were never pressed in great numbers. Perhaps Sherwood thinks the same as me and hence they've never been re-issued.

If there are releases you want eBay seems to maintain a good stream of the On-U back catalogue and apart from the very rare stuff, most of it sells at sensible prices.
