Maybe I can get back into posting now?

ADSL was activated on Thursday, unfortunately the equipment was delivered (or they tried to) on Weds and Thurs, after which I arranged to pick it up from the depot in Sheffield. I was there at 0745, they don't open until 0800, then I had to wait for nearly 25mins while they tried to find my package. *grumps*

Eventually got it working, only with one PC at first though. Networking refused to work at all. After realising my error and wrong assumption, and running cables all over the house, I have networking again.

It's a bit of a hack right now. Switch is in the kitchen, ADSL router on the floor behind my chair, cable running up the stairs to the PC in the back "bedroom". (Bedroom in inverted commas because fitting a single bed in there would be uhhm, interesting). Wireless networking is the way to go, because it appears all the interior walls in the house are full of plaster, and you can't nail anything into them. This I learnt half-way through putting in a telephone extension.

I've spent an awesome weekend with Jane. We've got lots of unpacking and tidying done. The house actually looks vaguely like a house, rather than a box store. Have had lots of fun spending time with her, which is cool.

I have a fridge! I bought a fridge from Mike(?) at work for a tenner. Superb. No freezer in it but I don't care if it only lasts a few months, for a tenner.

Work Christmas do is tomorrow. I can't decide whether to go or not. I could go, meet loads of people and have lots of fun or I could go, know nobody and spend all my time at the bar :) I am verging on the not going... I still have things I can do at home.

I bought a curtain rail for the bedroom, put it up vaguely straight, but completely forgot to buy curtain hooks for the living room. Must remember those tomorrow evening. Mind you, after spending £50 (erk!) in B&Q on Saturday afternoon, I don't wanna go back!!

You could probably fit a double bed into it, but that would be about it. With a possibility of squeezing down the side of the bed.

I'm using it as an office. My computer desk fits in perfectly.

sounds like a good choice
if I move where I'm thinking of I'll have to buy a futon since I don't want to deal with moving a bed..
--not sure a double bed would fit in my current room (http://www.carianne.org/lj/rearranged.jpg)

mmmm. Futons. I spent a long time sleeping on one of them and I don't think I've spent a more uncomfortable few months. Ouch.

Your room's not that small, plenty of room for a bed!

Prolly... a thing that folds out from a low seat to a bed. Like this:
