I was going to make a phone post tonight but this eejit forgot that his paid account ran out a few days back. Not that I think paid time is important, there's only that one feature that I will really miss, and it's available on audblog anyhow.

Well, audblog seems to be non-existant right now as can't connect to their web page. But you get the point.

Wow. Freaky coincidence!

I was chatting to someone today about LiveJournal. Initially, they assukmed (as it was something they came to via my website) that it was something I wrote or hosted or whatever. (No, I have no idea how they figured that out either.)

I was trying to explan why it was worth 25 dollars a year (or thereabouts) - and for the life of me I couldn't. And I renewed recently, too.

(It was cheap to renew for a year, as I had a voucher for unclaimed invite codes, which got me five bucks off the cost anyway!)

After the phone call, of course, it all came flooding back. The fancy ways of posting - which I don't actually use, but are nice to have available. Polls. The ability to customise the styles to high heaven (when I get around to it). And all sorts of other stuff.

But it has made me think whether or not it's good value. I think it is, but I'm no longer certain it is...

Oh well.

I think it is good value. 25 bucks a year (2 bucks a month) to support a service which is used quite regularly and provides many rather cool services and features isn't much.

I've had a paid account for almost 2yrs constantly now and I just feel that I've not used many of the features which make it worthwhile. If I did, I might think differently and be in a hurry to renew.

Noooo, don't need to buy any paid time. I can buy it but just don't know whether I want to or not! As much as I like supporting LJ I'm not using many of the paid features.
