Once again the BBC seem to have forgotten that the world exists once you travel beyond Watford Gap.

They did it with "The Day that Britain Stopped", where they focussed entirely on London and the South East, and they have done it again. So far I've not heard a single mention of anywhere more northern than "London", and it is REALLY frustrating. They're supposed to serve the UK as a whole, not just London.

I have heard this complaint before. I'm always correcting people here who think that British = English. Thankless task.

This is a very common misconception that I wish I could stamp out easily, but the BBC don't even seem to understand that "England != London". Everything in this series of programming is based purely in London and the south east.

What about Birmingham? Sheffield? Manchester? Bristol? These are 4 big cities ignored completely by this specific program, and at least one previous "docudrama" in the same vein.

I'm surprised that the Beeb is still doing that, in this day and age.

...take home message from that program seemed to be "so long as you live outside the south east of England then you'll probably be ok".

That's the second *what if the worst happened?* type show that has come to the same conclusion I've seen in the last 12 months!

The north rools...

I bet you that the rest of this "IF" series are the same.

I ranted about this with the "the day britain stopped" program too. Apart from longer and with more fed up ness then. This time I think I'm getting used to it :)
