Well, the change had to happen. Who knew when why how or by what means.

TDMS (Technical Data and Multimedia Services) Dept. is no longer going to be a department as it is now. TDMS advisors are going to be "superusers", just doing what they normally do, from within frontline teams.

There will, however be a TDMS team remaining. This will take over some of (all of?) the functions that Technical Help Desk currently perform, slowly at least.

A few months back we were asked to do some tests which we were told wouldn't affect our jobs, they just wanted to see what the skill levels were like in the department.

Well. Today we found out the truth - we're being selected for the "new" TDMS advisor positions based on the scores from our call monitorings in Jan and test scores.

Why can't they just be honest, damnit.

Uhhm, I've been offered a position within the new team. I don't know what I want to do. I think I'll wait until we find out more. Especially the shift patterns.

I suppose this explains some of the procedure rollouts to frontline, GPRS manual settings etc, (which should have been done long ago). Most of the people I work with have been using the TDMS site to get to them for a while anyway.

It's a shame they weren't more open with you about the tests though. That's a pretty poor show.
