It's been a while, once more. I would say I've been doing stuff but I really haven't.
In the last week I have done lots, but the highlight was going to Jane's last Saturday evening to watch her and the Halifax All Souls Operatic Society perform. Was a really nice evening. I was out with her mum and dad and felt a little uncomfortable all night , as much as I like them - when Jane's not there, the conversation's a little slow. She definitely helps grease the wheels :)
Was taken out for a fabulous curry after though, which made up for it all.
Sunday was my burfday and I was treated. I was treated indeed. Jane was a very silly lady and bought me two very cool things, one very silly thing - I got the "The Prisoner" box set, and Michael Palin's "Himalaya" book, both of which I've been lusting after :) I also got "Crimson Tide" on DVD, which is a good film up until the last 20minutes, when it all falls apart and I tend to lose interest.
I then treated Janey to lunch - I know it's the wrong way round, but we were going out for dinner and neither of us could be arsed to cook :) Went out for a pint and snack at the local wetherspoons, I swear I nearly had to carry jane home after a single bottle of Leffe! Home, slept!
Dinner was at the Temujin restaraunt, which is a Mongolian Feast. Slightly different to the Kublai Khan in Glasgow/Edinburgh as everything's cooked in seperate woks, and your choice of additions is a lot less - but I prefer it that way. I always used to get horribly confused at KK's. mmmm, Tuna with garlic oil, and lemon and lime sauce. The way they cook it is very dramatic - with a bit of oil in the wok, they put your food in, then seal it extraordinarily quickly with a very impressive flameup :)
We stayed there nearly 3hrs, but it was so worth it. Had a fantastic meal. Home, watched a DVD of something, sleep.
Had a good day.
This week I'm on lates. Icky lates. Good news though, our shift patterns aren't changing where as everyone else in the centre appears to have been given as many lates as they can throw onto their plates. Hurrah. I like my shift pattern (as much as anyone can like the damned things).
Bought myself a sexy new jacket from M&S - got £80 from my parents and my grandparents - jacket was £85, couldn't resist. Have been wearing today as has been pouring down and it does everything I expect a jacket to do - keeps me dry and warm. Very well.
