Jane and I planned on going to the Cinema to see Shark Tale last night. Booked tickets online, got in the car and set off.

Jane suddenly got a weird look on her face and said "where's Daisy?". Daisy (Jane's car) wasn't there! We both knew she had been parked at the end of the road last night because I'd asked her how she was running. Just in case I drove round the block to make sure she'd not been picked up and abandoned.

She hadn't. Jane panicked, I made her call the police and the insurance company. Made tea, forced it down her neck, and the rest of the night was spent trying to keep her calm and unpanicky. This wasn't helped by her mother, who seems to be able to make a drama out of any situation. Arranged to take Jane to Sherwood Forest for a course she had to go on.

Didn't get to sleep until gone 2am, up at 7am. Arranged to work late instead of the 9-5 I shoulda been on. Sucks, but hey. Worth it.

Jane got a call this morning from Barnsley police station saying that they'd found Daisy. This is good and bad news. Good that she's safe, bad because it's gonna cost if she's in a bad state, and it would have been quite handy for Jane if she'd gone missing totally. Daisy is quite old and a new car woulda been nice :)

I'm knackered...

I had two different cars stolen. I got both back, but the second one was considered totaled by the insurance company. I got a check big enough for a downpayment on another used car. The first one had a little damage but not enough to get a decent sized check.

I think I prefer the idea of the car being totalled - it makes the mental switchover a lot easier...

ooo what was your daisy?
We should find out tomorrow what state she's in...... I'm hoping it's a write-off myself. It'd be better, I think.

I left her in Cornwall when I went away to Salford, when my parents split up my dad took the car so I gave Daisy to mum. She used her to get to work for a while until she could afford a Clio, then sold it on :)
