I... sorry, I is the wrong word to use. Our team is the right phrase.
Our team did a shift swap - Monday we went into work when it was supposed to be our day off, Wednesday we get off instead. The reason for this, was that someone in resource and support had booked us in for training with an external company - this actually looks like worthwhile training too - learning more about VPNs and more importantly - how to use them.
We get to work, at our alloted time we get up and ready to bugger off to training, only for R&S to tell us that it's been cancelled/deferred/moved. We look very confused and say "but...", yet there has been the most monumental cock-up ever. Huger than any I've seen yet. Whilst it doesn't actually hurt anybody directly - indirectly it shows just how crap they are at organising anything across more than one department.
Apparently, at the same time our t/m was organising the shift swap from Wednesday to Monday, someone else within resource was contacting the training company and re-organising it for when we were going to be in. Guess when they booked it?
As I say, this isn't the end of the world. But it is a major cockup, and will cause lots of hassle in the future, because of the TSC transfer thingie. *shrugs* The sooner I am out of Dearne, the better.
(Oh, and in case anyone was thinking of asking, I haven't heard back from Oswald yet - I did email him on Monday in the early AM but got no response back by 5pm, also tried calling but got voicemail.)
