Yay :)
I have geeky toys. New DSL-904 pack which consists of a D-Link DSL-G604T Wireless ADSL Modem with 4 port switch, and DWL-122 (a USB wireless adapter). I've just spent the last hour or so pulling out all my old equipment (4 pt Sitecom switch, Solwise SAR-130 ADSL modem, and others) and replacing it with one easy box.

True, some of the configuration on the new kit isn't as good as the old stuff (DHCP reserved address config is a bloody nightmare, appears to be no way to enter the MAC address and the IP you want it to be given...) but I am very happy right now :)

Bargain! Where from? :) I'm sure you can restrict the network by MAC address but it was done by hardware-geek friend rather than this software geek so cannot tell you exactly where in the Router config it was done!

www.simply.co.uk - they vary from being extraordinarily cheap and stupidly expensive, this was one of the better deals.

You can restrict by MAC by going to Advanced and then Wireless Management (or http:///cgi-bin/webcm?getpage=../html/advanced/wireless_mang.htm)

Oh, and the MAC address that i was muttering about... you can usually tell a DHCP server (the DSL-604) to reserve an IP address for a particular network device. This is very useful when you have a small network (2 computers) and can't be arsed to type an IP address every time you want to connect :) Because I know that both computers will have a particular IP, I can make it all much more static and easy to use.

Yeah I know what's the point in DHCP then - makes life easier in the long run, is my excuse.
