Excerpt from an email received this afternoon.

Re: Tech Support Advisor role for Your Communications.

Hi Phil,

Unfortunately on this occasion you have been unsuccessful they thought
more of a programmer although impressed by your other background at
t-mobile. Could possibly use in the future, so would let us
know.


*sigh* I really should take my degree off my CV when applying for these
positions. The word overqualified seems to spring to mind. Wish they'd
have asked for more info though I know that's not how the system works.

Bah, bad luck :( Still, if you are considered more of a programmer.... would a programming job interest you? Or are you more "into" Tech Support stuff?

It's more a question of what experience I have - I'd love to be doing something development related but I have no commercial experience and it's been nearly 4yrs since I graduated.

So right now I'm applying for positions that are either unrelated or that I have demonstrable experience of doing :)

I've partially applied, but have a bit of a problem with the profile thingie. I'm unable to edit my waffly style answers after running out of time and putting "TBC" in them :)

So I think I'm going to start again and make sure I leave LOTS of time instead of saving/going back to the questions.

That was only a small bit of the email, and came from an agency person. I've heard very good things about Your Communications from someone who works there/
