She bought Dungeon Keeper 2 and I've been spending time trying to make it work properly on XP, as it's really designed for Windows 98 and has a tendency to crash on some sound related events.
Just to make sure it worked, mind you... just to make sure... I've been playing for about 3hrs now. I think that's a pretty good stress test.

Not a solution, but...
I ended up unintalling it, as it crashed eventually in all situatons, and couldn't cope with multiplayer for more than 10 minutes. Shame, as despite its age, it's a really good game.

Then I uninstalled it after breaking it completely, reinstalled it and it seems to be working. Sound's a bit crackly but it at least hasn't crashed out on me yet. Hurrah!
