the_elyan's post on Hemingway's "6 word" novel has made me go reading and it's quite interesting, reading the story on how this "novel" is supposed to have happened. Go find out about it. Googling for "hemingway six word novel" brings up a few choice results.

I've spent the evening making a database (oooo). So far, it's nothing too exciting - a table for MS companies and their details, and a table for jobs. I can't help feeling that a DB is overkill for this, but Excel is a bit limiting for what I want - I want to be able to record jobs, when they're completed, when the reports are filed and when they're paid. I want to be able to say "who owes me money before dd/mm?" or "what jobs do I have coming up in the next week".

I can do these things in Excel, but I can't do them as comprehensively, and I can't do them all at once. I can only do a few things at once. So I'm learning how to create myself a database again. Access is a pain in the arse, I may be going about it in completely the wrong way. No doubt I shall get half-way through this, play some more and find that actually... I should have done it like that.

It's about typical for me. Plan a project? *rofl* I don't even know what the specs are yet, let alone have a design.
