I've been inducted at the gym. Yikes I'm going to be working really really hard. I think I'm going to enjoy it - apart from the hand cycle. That's a bitch on the arms! I've never seriously used any of the resistance equipment (sorry... weights) before, so it'll be interesting to see how I manage and develop with those.
Looking at spending an hour and a half there, minimum 3 times a week. I can manage that easily. Once on Mondays when we're off anyway, and twice either before or after work (likely after, as mornings - mornings are foul and must be destroyed).
I shall not post the very embarrasing figures I was given about weight, body fat analysis and so on as well... it's really embarrassing.

Post to friends only if you're happy with that. You'll get encouragement from me, and don't fear scorn if you achieve nothing - we don't do scorn :o) Even if you don't achieve material weight loss, you'll become fitter, you might be more aware of diet, or less resistant to outdoor activity - all achievements that will improve your life.
I suggest you don't weigh more often than once per week - even twice per week. That way, you don't become as obsessed, and you smooth out the natural minor variations and appreciate the true gains (sorry, losses!) This isn't experience speaking; it's psychology and maths.

Being embarassed doesn't make me want to go any less :) I want to go and will work hard at it. I'm not planning on obsessing over weight because that isn't my primary aim. It's more regaining that lost fitness that I want.
