I got fed up with Egg's refusal to talk to me via email about cancelling the PPI on my loan, so decided to try and switch loans. The Egg rate is a darned good one - 7.9% when PPI is taken into account, so it was tricky to try and beat it, but Northern Rock came up trumps by a couple of percent. Whilst I know I don't have an absolutely perfect credit record, for the past few years it's been spotless, except for one thing - O2's refusal to accept payment for 12p outstanding debt by anything other than cheque! As I didn't have a chequebook then (by choice) I was scuppered.
Anyhow, they turned me down. I'm thinking that maybe it's because I declined their PPI, planning on taking out insurance from another company.
So today I eventually got round to writing to them to appeal the decision, and ask them to reconsider. I expect a phone call from them soon asking me for my inside leg measurement.
