Work lately has mostly been me investigating issues. Bee working on finding out why certain things happen. Things which really shouldn't. Also got grabbed by Shaun to try and rescue some data from an NTFS formatted disk which was knackered. Not exactly my field of expertise so advised as best I could.

We got a right telling off today. The company MD/director/whatever he is called the whole office together - including staff normally out of the office and everything - and told us that we weren't doing as well as should be done. He focussed entirely on the customer feedback which apparently has DM as being a bit snooty, a bit haughty. So apparently things will be changing, especially within the customer facing departments. Some for the good (some decent CRM software, hopefully! We currently don't have anything to track who we talk to), some maybe for the not-so-good. We shall see, eh.

I do have some advantages here - I'm new enough to be able to legitimately say that I've not had any serious influence on customers :)

I'm a little concerned but not too much yet. The dude downplayed the poor results, insisting that the company's not in any trouble - yet. Hmm. Maybe I made the wrong choice? :) We'll see, eh?

yeah but would you rather be a full time employee at a company that actually makes and sells its own stuff, or a telephone clone at a company which could potentially lose its T-Mobile contract one day and have nothing to do... ? think you're still safer going up in the world...
