It's been an absolute stunner of a day. Sun everywhere, no clouds in the sky. Jane and I went to see Transformers at 1730, so left a sunny outside and spent nearly 3hrs (3 hours??!?!) sat in a darkened room, only to leave and find it raining slightly and cloudy.

As we had plans to barbecue we were NOT impressed. Eager to stave off hunger and to challenge the gods to a duel, I barbecued anyhow :) It was only spitting! The dark just means it's harder to tell when things are burning...

Must say that it was all scrummy.

Transformers - fine for the 1st hour. OK for the next 30 mins. For the next hour? Just give up, nothing but pretty CGI and fast paced music. If I was wearing a watch I would have stared at it hard to make time go forward. They could cut 60 mins from that film and not lose a single thing. The CGI is lovely and smooth and almost realistic but it's so fast that you don't get time to judge. The robots' movement is smooth and nice but the whole MTV generation 'cut' every 3 seconds thing is all too evident. I got the impression that Michael Bay was more interested in pretty than keeping the audience entertained.

Tomorrow we plan on going for an adventure :)
