That sound like a challenge question!
I'd say that it reminds us that we are very small in the universe. The theory was created because problems could not be solved using existing ideas, so something whacky had to be made up to explain a few things. Unfortunately, the abstractions made do imply a scenario where human conditions could not have existed. The same type of thinking also projects aeons into the future, which could look very bleak, with no possibility of survival.
It's not funny because we can't see ourselves in it at the extremes. Our only hope in this respect is to believe in a divine being who oversees everything, and has out interests at heart.
As to why it could be funny, it relates to one of the conditions that creates comedy: surprise. Something seeming to appear from nothing, and generating all that complexity has to be ultimate 'tadaa!'.
I'll leave with a parting shot: Big Bang Theory is not necessarily the only answer. It goes a long way to describe possible beginnings, but it is a limited view on the possibilities.

I suspect that you've never seen the US "comedy" called "Big Bang Theory"!

I must also confess that I had a good chortle at your expense at the great long answer you gave, because I had twigged what Phil really meant!
