Most of tonight putting CDs in the drive, pressing a button, and then taking them out. Occasionally there have been periods of me shouting at the computer as the CDDB lookups fail, and breaks to watch the Simpsons, but otherwise it's been dull.

I'm cataloging my CDs again - but this time I'm doing it with a commercial app - OK it's not "bought" but bought thanks to the wonders of the web - I can't afford it and even if I could, wouldn't. My old CD list was simply an HTML page, everything contained in a table. This should make it easier, and can also contain a hell of a lot more info than that ever did. Yup :)

So, I've done two rows of my tower. 8 more to go, and then my Discgear box. And then the singles in the carry cases. Oh joy. This'll take me months :)

I am strangely attracted to this sport. I started watching it a while back, when Channel 5 started showing it, and also got the NFL rights from Channel 4 (which I am still pissed about). It took me a long time to get really into it and understand it, and why it was enjoyable, but it's _great_! I stayed up till about 5am watching the World Series final last yr - with Arizona winning.

Now it's back, wheee! I'm so happy :) I just wish that they showed highlights occasionally, instead of always being on at 1am. Hell - Channel 5 have nothing else better to show!
Music:: Baseball stuff

Why are people so unable to (ID3) tag their music properly? When you make a CD's Artist "Various Artists", you make sure all the individual songs don't have the Artist AND Song Title in the "Title" field. I'm going to be spending an hour sorting this mess out... *sighs*

[updated some more questions below #5]
At least, the first few questions:

~~~~1.WHAT'S THE STORY BEHIND YOUR LJ USERNAME?
You try finding "Phil" as a username anywhere. Even in '95, when I first got online it was impossible in most places. So I chose phil-99 as my account name on Geocities. When Geocities got sucked into Yahoo(!), I decided I wanted no longer to be a part of it, but carried on the account name. Everywhere that I can be "phil-99", I am. But nowadays there are more and more places that won't allow me to put a '-' in my account name, more's the shame... so a lot of places nowadays I am going by PMSumner - it's a mite more "professional" than phil-99.
Hence my domain - http://philsumner.co.uk/
~~~~2. NAME FIVE [5] OF YOUR FAVORITE PIGOUT FOODS.
Haagen Daazs, Ben and Jerry's :)
Chocolate
Pringles
Soup
Leftovers of varying descriptions - anything I can get my hands on, when I am one of "those" moods.

~~~~3. HAVE YOU EVER HAD A MAKEOVER?
A what? NO! :)
~~~~4. HAVE YOU EVER WITNESSED DEATH?
Not as far as I know. The only deaths in my life have been my grandmother (Funeral was on my 13th birthday, that was nice planning - eh?) and other people's friends and relatives. I've never seen death directly.

~~~~5. WHAT'S THE LONGEST TIME YOU'VE STAYED OUT OF THE COUNTRY/WHERE?
2 weeks at a time on various holidays. Unless you count Wales as a foreign place, in which case it's a month or more, camping with my grandparents. (Oh joy.) Holidays have been to North America (New York / Lancaster, PA, / Montreal / Washington / New Jersey someplace / Cocoa Beach and Cape Canaverel) and a week in Lanzarote. Though one day I will emigrate to the US - one day.
~~~~12. DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE QUOTE?
"Faith Manages" Taken from Babylon 5. It says an awful lot to me about the outlook one should have on life.

~~~~14. HOW MUCH MONEY DOES IT TAKE TO KEEP YOU FOR A YEAR?
When I was a student I was living off student loan (2,735) + working about 6 months every year. I couldn't tell you without referring to my payslips now. But that was the bare minimum, really. To get much lower would be to have a life that wasn't a life, if that makes sense?
~~~~26. WHAT'S IN YOUR BAG?
Gameboy & Gameboy link cable, books (currently: Ian M Banks - The Wasp Factory), tapes, cds, New Scientist, rail and bus timetables.

~~~~41. WRITE A LINE FROM ANY SONG
"Met you underneath the moon, night was over much to soon, we shared a kiss 'till dayllight came, and kissed the night goodbye". (Ricky Martin, You Stay With Me) Ahhhh Memories....
Music:: Star Trek - DS9
Mood:: 'hopeful' hopeful
