I've been very impressed with BBC4's music coverage, and this is no exception. They really do find some of the best artists around and give them some amazing screen time. I find it a crying shame that BBC4 has such low viewing figures because truly it is a great idea. TV programs that have some depth behind them. It was advertised as "intelligent TV" but I think this is wrong. It's "TV that doesn't have any soap, reality or game shows or on it". This can only be a good thing! It's things like their coverage of the war which took a completely different tack from the main news channels, and their programs on the EU, Russian history, developments in African countries and so on and so on...

Oh, on a related but sidetracking note. I missed "Later... with Jools Holand" the other night :( I used to have a CD titled "Later... The Slow Beats" but that got pinched when I was burgled at Hardy Farm. It was live sessions from Later, people like Portishead, Morchheba, Massive attack and so on. I've never managed to find another copy of this, even though I believe there was a series of the "Later...." CDs. Can anyone help?

I'm a bit hacked off with T-Mobile as my network provider today. My phone and / or SIM has been a bit flaky lately - I've been having problems with my phone losing all ability to make calls and send messages from it. In order to solve this problem I asked for a replacement SIM.

I understand that the replacement SIM must overwrite the details of the old SIM, as one phone number can (fairly obviously) only have one SIM associated with it. But at about 2:30am last night I found myself with no ability to connect to the network. I figure this was because the SIM serial on my account has been updated.

But look at it like this. There is no post on Sundays. Anywhere. Why in the world would you update it on a Sunday, leaving me without a phone service for a full day at minimum, or a possible two days assuming my post comes after I go to work? At least my old SIM worked sporadically.

This is definitely something to bring up as a suggestion somewhere.

On the plus side, I have been very pleased with the service received every time I've called up regarding any problems or queries.

I'm wondering if I'm supposed to be feeling anything special tonight. I want tomorrow off work and can't seem to get it, no matter when I try. Tried last week, tried the week before and I tried today, but the only way appears to be by pulling a sickie. Is it really worth it for all the bother that brings?

I *really* need to go to the bank. I have had this cheque here for 5 days now and it's better in my bank account than theirs. I might start getting nasty phone calls from Barclays Personal Credit again if Tesco process their credit card payments faster than usual. I was really annoyed last time they called, considering I'd been paid the day they did so and they were demanding to know why I was over my overdraught limit, and not very politely either.

I came very close to getting a laptop today. Toys 'R' Us have a Cybermaxx P4 2.6GHz laptop for £999, 12mths credit paying approx £75/mo with 10% down. I would have done it were it not for the fact that I don't have £99.90 to put down. I'm probably glad I didn't do it. I don't need it. I am however, approved for up to £1,250.00 worth of credit if I go back within the next 3 days :)

I have eaten way too much ice cream in the last 2 days. It's so yummy. And both Tesco and Safeway have both been running offers (buy 2 for £x, where x is significantly less than the usual cost of 2 tubs). And when they also have the vanilla in twice the size for the same price........ eeeek.

However, I have lunch prepared for work on Monday, Tuesday and (depending on various factors) Wednesday. I have overtime booked for Weds - 9-11am and 7-10pm, but might cancel the morning slot, just go into Glasgow and do the bank and Moss Bros. I need to organise dress for the wedding - the event of the year.

Ooo, looking through my diary, I think we have some more schedule detail coming out soon. We're supposed to get 30 days notice of our shifts and we only have them up to about the 15th June. Hopefully then I will be able to decide exactly what I am doing for the big day or two or three.

ISTR I have accomodation (sharing with Bob?) but I need to double check everything there. I need to figure out how to get there. I need to figure out if I am driving all the way or whether it's best to drive some of the way and get a lift the rest - I'm certain there are some people from up north going.

In other words, I really need to do some organising and planning, for once in my life.

This latest Bank of Scotland advert is AWFUL. Eugh.

Can I witter on any longer about nothing?
