Gah, the bloody internet

No only am I drowning in a sea of spam and bounces (somebody is using philsumner as a soure for email and I get the bounces...), today I randomly checked my hotmail account to find some idiot has been posting fake Gumtree ads using my Hotmail email account.

Not impressed am I. I'm currently half-way through recording Romeo and Juliet from my PC to the PVR which I don't want to interrupt, so have had to delete all the bloody ads from my handheld. What tedious fun.

The prats also left a mobile number on the advert, so I'm going to 141 it and give them hell... idiots. If only I still had access to the info I used to, I'd know plenty more than I do about them...

I don't know :(
I'm considering changing my mail host config so that only mail to certain addresses will get through. The problem with that is I use different addresses for different companies. So google have google@philsumner, lj has LJ@philsumner and so on. I'd have to change the rules for _every_ company I've signed up with and that's going to be an unholy pain in the arse.

Oooh, if you figure out how to do that will you teach me? I asked my host if I could and they said no, I'd just have to set up a carianne@ box and set it to check that, which is a royal pain since the spam would them be sitting there eating at my quota.

My mail provider has set up an online way of doing it. I can set up aliases that either bounce directly, get forwarded to my mailbox or get bounced to an external address.
