I'm watching Joe 90 on TV, waiting for the bank to phone me back regarding the cheque I deposited yesterday which hasn't shown up on their records yet, recording a program from Radio 4's website using libreplay (because you can't save directly from RealOne) for Jane. It's called "A Gothic Quest" and is a history of Gothic stuff. Very interesting.

You know, I'm gonna miss having cable TV :) My nightly Frasier fix will be gone! Watching random crap like Joe 90, no longer.

oooo B5 on Bravo :) Haven't seen this for ages!

I just went to use the National Lottery's website to try and set up a subscription as I never ever remember to play, ever. When I try, their website tells me that my browser needs to support 128 bit encryption - wonder if I shout at it enough, will it realise that in fact Mozilla does support that? There are other pages on there that tell me I must be using Windows or a Mac.

What shoddy design.

AND, to top it all off, I just got a reply back to my complaint directed at webmaster@national-lottery.co.uk just got bounced. Now I'm pissed.

I think I may have a problem.
No, I'm not an alcoholic, not yet anyhow.

As I wrote yesterday I think, I took a cheque to the bank to deposit. Normally when a cheque is deposited in my account it shows up immediately (if they process it straight away) or by the end of the day (if they're busy and process it after closing). Barclays are good like this, because they allow you to draw on uncleared cheques. It's been 30hrs now and no sign of it yet on the online banking. I called up the phone banking and some random person who was very nice, said they would keep an eye on it... nothing back yet :(

Anyhow. I spent the entire day stressing because I couldn't find the receipt ANYWHERE. I even cleaned the car out, that's how desperate I was to find it ;) Where d'ya think I found it?

Where do you think I found it? )

So I called them.
I said I'd called earlier and asked if there'd been any progress. I was told no. I asked if there was anything I could do. They said I could go in tomorrow. No I bloody well can't - I am working tomorrow. If I was told this earlier on in the day I would have gone in during this afternoon which I have spent sat on my arse!

GAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I asked about the possibility of an increase in my o/d to help because of this and the answer was "you could try, I suppose". I tried that 2wks ago and it was declined, why would it change now?

*tries to calm down but fails miserably*
I've just had to write to my ebay purchaser and apologise for the delay, considering yesterday I told them it would be in the post today...

I've been using a Mozilla plugin called Adblock (recommended to me by [livejournal.com profile] ivarch) for a while now. It's totally revolutionised my web browsing. I've got about 10 rules set up, and it filters out all the ads on every single webpage I visit regularly.

This is so nice because it filters out images and (*gasp*) flash animations using wildcards (so *.doubleclick.net/* filters 90% of them out), rather than complete pages. It also does it on the fly, so you look at an ad, right click it and choose "block image" - it vanishes.

This makes things interesting when I spod from work. Because I don't see the ads at home any more I forget about them. Browsing from work is a real shock and very unpleasant...
